is it bait and switch advertising when a company advertises gas fridges that
1. Dont exist in there stock
2. Only exist in advertising
3. They cant get anyway
3. Dont exist as advertised, as a distributed product
is the ACCC the best to compain to about this false and misleading advertising

"Bait and Switch" is when they do the above but then offer you another product in place ofthe advertised one. You've just got "false and misleading" advertising :)
Might depend on wjhat state you're in who to complain to.

maybe there should be one called..
Bait and "in you face" advertising ... this would be where the "switch" is thrown by powerfull subliminal advertising, like floor to ceiling stacking of specially crafted advertising packaging

Office of Fair Trading in SA - probably equivalent in other states - ACCC is for the much larger fish - decent laws have been in place for yonks but many retailers try this stuff on still - its even 'agin the law' here in SA to simply advertise "no refunds" but retailers still get caught out ......hangings are rare unfortunately :-o) ....... they are usually beaten purposefully with a tram ticket dunked in a nice hot cup of tea ......
