Well the 2009 Dakar has finished with two VWs !st and 2nd, but for us Aussies the big win is Bruce Garland coming in 11th place in his Isuzu D-Max 1st diesel ute and 1st privateer.
Should be great for the new Isuzu Ute dealerships.

Cheers Bruce

The old adage of "win on Sunday ,sell on Monday" does no longer apply, mores the pity.

And the Cook wouldn't let me enter the Nissan and the Exploder
this time round, she reckons there would be to much of an unfair
advantage, comming in 1st & 2nd I would have a swelled head lol lol.

Isumu
I dont think you could call Bruce a complete privateer I believe he has some sponsorship from DMax and they dont they should.

I wonder if he got 1500Kls on a tank of fuel.

From what I have read only a little but probably enough sponsorship from Isuzu. From a photo I seen of it under full load don't think it would be getting 1500KLs black smoke pouring out the back end lol. It was producing 160 KW and 500NMs just a chip and big exhaust probably.

Cheers Bruce
