They are usually lower klms and in better condition that Aus cars. Things which are hard to get are air filters and rear brakes, but don't let that put you off. Also
check on insurance.

there are alot of parts that dont fit from here in Ozz . not just filters ect. Insurance is a huge problem (depending on age ) another is resale . As far as 4x4 goes , its up there with the big boys

Stevo,
My '92 2.5dti import seems to be money
well spent, when I bought it(jan2003), it had a factory fitted rear diff lock, recaro's, dual batteries plus only 74k's. I was the first owner in oz and it looks like it hasn't seen a great deal of soil in its time.
Since buying it, i've added a cargo box with an ARB 40Litre slide and a couple of weeks ago I replaced both batteries and had a new solenoid installed.
Can't really comment on any down points as nothings gone wrong(yet).
Its a great toy off road, goes like a bitch on the sand and has plenty of clearance underneath.
If your close enough to SE QLD and you're interested, post a contact and I can send you a few piccy's...........
