Last night I became grandfather for the first time.
Where should we go for our first outback trip?
His mum won't let him go just yet, but I've got to start planning.
PS Being a Grandpa is okay..... do I really need to sleep with a grandma now?

Royce you prick! Lucky bastard!!
Relax mate. It's the Dad wot buggers off, not the Grandad!
We (missus'n me), live in hope Old Man, we live in hope.
Best of health to child and mother eh, and may good health accompany them on their adventures through life.
Bagus sekali. dan selamat jalan.

Our oldest grandson, has just turned 5. he's the oldest of 4 grandsons we have. He's been staying with us for a week and we take him
home to his parents today. Grandkids are a delight! A week is just long enough!
last two days he's been fishing with me and I think we both had the best time in ages.
Have fun, but it seems a long time before they notice who you are.

Congratulations Grandad & Grandma
We have three Grand Daughters, and we love them to bits, the
oldest girl is Eleven and she is Sports mad, she spends all her time
with her dad, they go surfing together, reef fishing every thing
that a son would do, as soon as your Grand Son is old enough,
take him and his Father on a Camping Trip, just the three of you,
they will be your two Best Mates for life.
Cheers
Daza

Congratulations Royce. We became first time grandparents last November!!!!
Our
young Eden James has already been seen on my son's trail bike, and my ride on mower, so he is getting a taste for it.
His mum has banned me from taking to to Maccas in the years to come (he he he) .... but has not mentioned Hungry Jacks.
Enjoy it, as we are doing.

Congratulations. I became a Grandpa in November.

your reward for not killing your children"

Royce - Congratulations!
Words from experience - don't even DREAM of taking him anywhere without Grandma coming along too until he is out of nappies. You've been through all that ....
In the meantime, wait till his Dad has had a few months of nappies at 2 am, then make an excuse to go off with him for a few nights - he'll jump at it by then. You probably know where you want to go, but
Big Desert is nice and close for Victorians, or head north as far as you can get a leave pass for.
Then when he is potty trained, find somewhere about 1 - 2 hours maximum where you can
camp, he can run around, chase birds and kangaroos, and under strict supervision chuck rocks in a creek. But remember the refrain "are we there yet?" - don't even dream of the inback, let alone the outback till he's older.
Get him hooked on camping, and once he demands to go to the outback you are in like flint.
Believe me though, they like a beaut
camp site to muck around in for a long time.
At least our eight do.

Fantastic news Royce,
Yes you still need to sleep with grandma !!!
We have 5, 3 boys and 2 girls.
Have taken them camping as soon as they are walking, easier on the back if they can move around the
camp on there own.
We love them to bits, but they take up a lot of time LOL
Eldest son and partner moved in with us 3 years ago while we built them a house, with our oldest grandson at 4 years old, and they are about to move out with him at 7 and 2 grandaughters, 2 1/2 and 15 months. We have been blessed to watch them grow up with us on a daily basis.
It will be REALLY REALLY quiet here soon !!!
Other 2 belong to our daughter, boys aged 4 and 2, who live in
Adelaide, so we see them as often as we can.
Spent a few days with them last week building them, what was supposed to be a grand cubby, almost turned out to be an adition to the house, HaHaHa
Taking the 3 boys with us this long weekend.
Take them anywhere outdoors and enjoy them as much as you can mate, they grow so fast !!!
Cheers Pesty
