Hi All,

I usually us Firefox when I use the forum and at the moment I am unable to login using it. I can type my e-mail address in the required box but when I put my mouse pointer over the password box nothing happens and as a result I cannot enter my password - it is as if the box is not there. The cursor works with all the other boxes.

Any ideas as I do not like using IE as I am at the moment.

Thanks

Garry

garrycol,
Yep some strange things are happening. Every time I open EO it looks like the page is on 150% magnification and I have to scroll around to read it.
Just waiting for it to settle down.

Garry,

why don't you send an email to Damian at the Exploroz team. Someone there should be able to give you advice in respect to the problem.

Cheers Mick

Same happening to me. Spoke to Damian and he's at a loss too. Nice to know I'm not the only one. Tried all my anti-viru, spyware etc and no change.

No ideas I must say - I have just tested with FF 1, 2 and 3, IE 6 & 7 and Opera 9 what every version it is and all seem to be working fine. I wonder for yourself and any others that are having a problem what Security product are you using - it would be interesting if all you guys with a problem were using the same one. So which are you using? Can you try loin with it disabled just to see what happens!

I have to point at these products as they all behave differently and cause all sorts of problems. We do not do anything weird at ExplorOz and are working everything all the time to the standards however every darn product implements the standards in a different way.

Let me know how you go. As an alternate use the older logon system (I will add this to the login drop down tomorrow) but for now use http://www.exploroz.com/users/exploroz_logon.aspx

I have AVG turned off and still cannot log on with FF.

This morning I could log on - this afternoon I cannot. The only thing that I have done was run "Cleanup" today but this is not a new program and I run it regularly. It removes all login information, cookies etc each time it runs so I have to login in again to the forums I use. That was why I was trying to lock back on when it failed. Note I have not had an issue with the approx other 10 forums I use - just Exploreroz.

I did try going back to a restore point from last week but no change.

Cheers

Ok so how do you guys end up logging in (I guess you use IE or something)? Can you tell me exactly what happens when you mouse to the password box and also can you try using the tab key to move between the entry fields to see if tabing in makes any difference.... Please let me know.

David,

Tabbing does not work on the main login screen. While not logged in and trying to enter this followup - the system says I am not logged in and a new login screen comes up which works fine so the issue is the main forum login screen.

No problems with IE just FF. On the main login screen, the cursor does not move to the password box by either tabbing or by mouse cursor - it is almost as if the password box is invisible to the my computer.

Cheers

Garry

I reckon it is definitely a problem with your FF installation. Try an upgrade if your installation is not the latest. If still not working then install Foxmrks http://www.foxmarks.com/ and save your settings on it. Then uninstall FF and re install. Then bring back your settings from Foxmarks.

Thanks Peter,

Though I am not the only person who is having issues and the problem developed with no changes to my system.

I use FF2 because FF3 has major issues and is not compatible with some other forums I use.

I will do as you suggest with FF2.

Cheers

I couldn't log on by using the login button, BUT I went to reply to a forum message and a bigger login screen came up and i was able to log in successfully.

If I log out out and try to login by normal methods, I cannot enter my password in Firefox ???

Tried that, still no login. Mine is slightly different in that I can input my password but nothing happens when I click login.

Sorry to be unable to assist.
I have no probs with FF 3.0.5 on an iMac dual core.
Maybe it's another MS Windows problem.
