Hi All
Many thanks for the help on the threads Which 4by and Auto v Manual.
Son had decided on an 07 Rodeo 4wd Auto with lots of extras.
Went to work yrsterday.....................goodbye.
He worked at
Ravensthorpe WA. BHP Nickel
mine shut up
shop and told everyone to turn out the lights on the way out the door.
He is one of the lucky ones at the moment. He at least has come back to Bunbury and is earning a basic wage with his company. If he goes up north the purchase is still on...if not..its on hold.
Bugger

Got a phone call from my brother yesterday. His sons job in the IT section of a
mine, was pulled yesterday. He got the Royal DCM. Wife and two kids to support. Bro had been telling him to save for a rainy day but apparently the current generation don't believe in recessions and Depressions. Spend it all, the future can take care of itself.
I feel sorry for those saddled with a family, mountains of debt and out of work.
But in some cases...

Ain't that the truth Troopyman.
At least those of us who lived through the 18% interest rates in the 80's know how to go into survival mode. I don't think the Gimme Generation have got a clue what's about to hit them.
I guess all of us grandparents will have to have our wallets standing by, as usual.
