G'day, am chasing any info on Dalgary road heading North off the Great Northern Hwy just past
Wubin and the rabbit fence. We are heading up that way in April (2 vehicles towing CTs) and want to get through to the
Warriedar Coppermine road and on to
Yalgoo, I was after any info on the roads/tracks condition ( con flicting info via Google) my maps show a track up the East side of
Mongers Lake, and a trail through what looks like Wanarra Station to get up to the Copper/
Warriedar rd. Just wondered if anyone had any clues.
Happy trails, Kanga1

G'Day Kanga the way i see things it would be better for you to travel up the rabbit fence from north of
Wubin to the Perenjori Rothsay rd which will bring you out on the
Yalgoo Ninghan rd about ten to fifteen ks north of
Warriedar. The Dalgary track doesn't look that flash and at that time of the year would probably be a bit damp. I was recently out that way and the roads are always in pretty good condition. Happy travels

Hi there Old Gold, that is probably the way we will finish up travelling depending on what I can find out, the track called Dalgary road goes past a couple of wells and a
Rockhole we thought we might have a look at, If we finish up going on the Rabbit fence track who do you get permission from nowadays to travel legitimately? thanks again. Cheers, Kanga1.

Kanga
We went up the Dalgary track several years ago, but the it is very hard to find the way thru the old Dalgary
camp, Im not sure I could even find my way now.
The
rock hole you mentioned is nothing flash, the stench of goats and a polluted puddle in a small
granite rock about three meters high.
The road up the RPF is impassable/non existence immediantly nth of the GNH way. Get on it off Richards, Barker and Maya east roads. The RPF road is a Shire road no need for permits.
Cheers Mac

Hi Kanga1
Went up the Dalgary track last year. Nothing flash. Track peters out to nothing for a while and you are following a 20 year old track or almost a mere wash a way in the bush. Be prepared to get lots of scratches down your vehicle. Eventually you get to a back
gate of the station. The true track goes down the fence line to the
salt lake and then along the edge until it gets out at the road. I looked for it there and just could not find it so ended up going through the station
gate. Station tracks have been regraded and changed over the last couple of years. Rules is leave all gates in the manner you found them. ie closed or open. The
rock hole mentioned is only the first one - yes stinking and full of goat bleep . The next one is at the top of a
hill quite clean and overlooking the salt lakes.
Be very wary at this time of year - absolutely no fires - the place is dry tinder and if a fire got away - you would not.

Thanks for your info on the Dalgary road/track? I think based on your imput we will use RPF track, we have come unstuck towing CTs up goat tracks before, doesn't sound like we are going to miss too much up the East side of the lake really, thanks again, Kanga1.
