An awful lot of research to what gain, I wonder.
Most of us go buy something on either reputation or price.
I have 3 car fridges
1985 15lt Plastic body Engel...still going though the body is pretty stuffed
2002 32lt Engel with Two Zone. Works
well. Is run on Freeze all of the time when in use
2007 40lt Waeco. Has been back to repairer twice for warranty work. OK now.
All of them keep the tucker and drinks cold!
It is interesting to see where the Researcher mounted his Waeco in the bacl of the vehicle. Even with the fridge slide, access will be difficult.
Cheers

I'm a fan of thorough research, but yes, I bought
mine on the basis of a +ve
test in a mag.
So this bit of research is for folks who want to go into detail about the technology and performance on paper (mostly).
Waeco has a good rep, and that's what I got, but now I know there's two users with warranty claims.

Engel's have such a great track record why did they change? Chinese manufactured parts now must make them different now surely.

Witht the amount of time and effort put into that, he would have done better to get a part time job and effectively get a fridge for nothing.
Cheers,
Jim.
