Australia Day in Mandurah WA

Caught a feed of crabs in the estuary today.

Ate them for lunch listening to Aussie songs. Most appropriate is Iva Davies "Great Southern Land".

Ambled down to the local Holden dealership, owned and run by a very pro-active Father and Son team. They brought in the Coupe 60. Rumoured to be the basis for the new Monaro.

A far cry from my old EH Holden.

Triple Sidedraft Webers
Ground cam
Shaved head
Extractors
Impala shift
Smith gauges
Lowered on self widened std rims
Bald 235/70x14s [racing slicks]
All your tools in the boot [always needed them]

Chick beside me dog in the back and usually a copper in his Hillman Hunter behind me.

After the radio warmed up crank it up, 4" speakers, real doof-doof car.

Nah, the new Monaro looks too tame......hehehe.

Cheer.....Lionel.

Lotzy, Yep twin aerials and fluffy dice.
More noise = fast car.....lol.

I recall in those days the coppers would egg me on just so we could race and then once they caught me we would talk about cars and engines before I was told to tone it down.

These days they call it 'HOONING".

Cheers.....Lionel.

As the Son of the "very pro-active Father and Son team" I would like to say thanks to Stephen for coming and it was a great day and it is defiantly a fantastic car and so it should be for 1.5million. Not that I really need to use Viagra, but if and when I do ill just play back the video of this car starting and revving!!!!

Ive attached two pic's below one of SWMBO sitting in the car. One of only a hand full of people to ever do so.

And a big thanks to Garth Tander for being such a great bloke and signing so many Holden hat's for his loyal supporters.
