Barrington tops

Just heard on the evening news that the National Parks are going to take over the barrington tops area.

there goes another 1 down the gurgler.

According to GoogleMaps it's already called "Barrington Tops National Park"

There are State Forests to the East, North and South of the National Park estate.

Barrington Tops National Park was created in 1969 (according to the National Parks website). It also had additions in 1984, 1997 and 1999.

I'd guess that this is just more land being added.

Horse Swamp is actually managed by State Forests. NPWS seem to want it for themselves.

National Parks actually took over late last year.
The brother-in-law was the Forest Ranger working out of Dungog and attached to the Gloucester office. He retired on 31 December last and NPWS took over from him after a handover during Nov/Dec.
