Can anyone recommend a good insurance company that understand the needs of 4x4 drivers who like to tour? I found so far that the run of the mill guys do not understand that you will be loading the wagon up with a lot of expensive toys, some bolted to the vehicle (GPS, UHF, winch, etc) others, kept in the back (Gennie, fridge, etc). It would be nice if the also understood that you are going to be swapping out a lot of the stock running gear, so that the wagon will get you there and
home again, something which will probably not happen using standard fit equipment.
Any good guys out there for this?
Thanks

This used to be right up TCIS's alley.
Still is. . . just seem to pay more.

Search the archives, there must be 29304823098203984 matches to this one.
There are dozens of options in there.
As Flappin says, TCIS www.tcis.com.au but they are not 1/100000th what they were 6mths ago when CGU Pulled the pin.

Hi, I went through an exercise a couple of weeks and posted on this
forum about it.
I have stayed with my current insurer NRMA, it is cheaper (by 25% to the alternative on offer) and they fully cover me on and off-road. I have a fairly extensive list of modicafications and accessories and this was no problem for them.
I checked TCIS but found they offered no more than I could achieve myself. I compared the policy document of an underwriter they suggested and it was basically identical to what I have. If anything, the alternative was not as good.
I have found that despite a lot of hype about insurance they are all basically the same.
Check the policies, you'll find little difference.
The key thing to remember, if you are doing "normal" things with your truck, and by normal I mean travelling the CSR, crossing the Simpson or going to
Cape York, you'll have no problem, providing you are entitled to be where you are.

Glyn,
I'm persisting with TCIS, they seem to do the right thing by me, I tried a few others always had a lot of discussion about the off road side of things I took the easy and slightly more expensive way out. Even with TCIS I had a lot of discussion about agreed values and accessories, still wary about making a claim. Keep the shiny side up
