Am trying to track down a 20L drum of Caltex Delo 400 in Brisbane. Caltex told me to ring S.E Qld Distributors who have a few outlets around Brisbane. They quoted $98 for a 20L drum. I have seen prices on the overland forum of $85 and $77 in Melbourne. Was wondering if anyone knows who sells it at a better price in Brisbane. Repco / Supercheap dont stock it and cant order it.

On a side note, Toyota Service my '03 TD Hilux with Shell Rimula X. Was wondering if I should leave the drum in the tray for the next service and ask that they use my Delo 400 rather than put their Rimula in.

Thanks for any help.

Cheers,

Nothing wrong with Rimula X.

Several of the patrol group use it few with over 500,000klms on the clock engines never been apart..

Ive changed to it now, no problems so far...

YMMV..

G'day Glenno,

I just bought a drum of Delo 400 (last week) from:

South East Queensland Fuels
61 Ashover Rd Rocklea QLD 4106
ph: 1300 135 455

at $89 for the 20L drum.

Regarding the Rimula X, its probably just fine if in fact that is what is used... Supposedly that was what was being put in my 02 Hilux but it seemed to go "off" after about 4000ks (noise levels at cold start etc get louder...) and I suspect that (but have no proof, of course) that it might've been a more generic "one oil for all" being used...

Anyway, just changed to the Delo 400 (after a bit of research) and all seems quiet again... At least I know what's going in there now.

Cheers, Haggis.
