G'day all,
I have just been quoted $2950 for a dchip and 2.75" mandrel bend exhaust with straight thru muffler in alloy and dump pipe with cat from
Beaudesert.
Also included is dyno, standard when i first drive in, then dyno again after exhaust is fitted, then dyno again after chip is fitted.
Is that a fair price or am i getting ripped, i know i could probably do a little bit better if i went to seperate
places , but it is the convenience getting it done at the one place.
cheers,
Lance

Lance,
I paid about the same for a Unichip and exhaust system about 2 years ago on a Lexus V8 petrol. I think the price is fair. if you feel comfortable that they will do a good job, then I think you will be pleased with the result.
My research was that the modified chip without the modified exhaust would only deliver about 50% of the potential improvement.
My advice? Go with it.

DChip approx 1200 and another 150 to fit, that is what Berrima __ Diesel charged us and they are the distributor / importers of the DChip, Exhaust from
Beaudesert was quoted at 750 plus another couple hundred if we wanted to drive other to have it fitted

Hello,
I have recently been pursuing information on these accessories for our hiilux as we have been towing a camper and have been wondering if some more power wouldn't go astray.
Only this week I obtained a quote from a place called
Brisbane Tuning and Turbo (in the phone book). They quoted $2550 for a DP Chip and 3" mandrel exhaust for my 2004 KZN165R Hilux, including 'tuning' - what ever that could possibly entail - and dyno before and after. This business featured in an old magazine. It might be worth giving them a call if you are in the SE Qld corner to see what they have to offer?
Was your quote with
Beaudesert Exhausts?
Regards

Matt, unfortunately i am in Victoria and yes it is a
Beaudesert exhaust that has to come down from QLD. I think the dump pipe is the difference in price.
cheers,
Lance

Lance,
Is that the DP or D'tronic chip?
I paid $1100 fitted for a 3" mandrel bent exhaust and $1500 for a D'tronic chip which I installed myself.

Cost of aluminised steel 3"mandrel bent exhaust for a 100 series fitted and dyno'd before and after with a 3 1/2 "dump pipe plus welding a spigot for the EGT sender $1100. Fitted a Dtronic myself $950 off Ebay.
Could have got a Stainless steel pipe for a bit over $1500

Well the Dtronic doesnt do that.
Previously when I floored it everything behind me disappeared in black smoke.
Now they just disappear in the distance with hardly any seeable smoke at all.
They are tuned at birth and cant be adjusted later even rang the distributors to
check.
At $950 and came unused in original box I couldnt turn it down.
Am off around
the block starting next week so will see how it goes.
Have had it for about 9 months and really happy.
Took a mate out today who is used to 100's and I floored it and his exclamation was and I quote"What the F**** have you got in there"
and its got about 150 kg of gear in the back.
