Looking for a camper trailer 'off road' . Needs to have 'out the back tent' Not along side. Tent to be approx 2.4 metres off the back for 2 people only. Not big tent. Manufactured in Victoria /
Melbourne preferably Can be simple and basic but needs to be strong. Nothing too fancy No stainless steel. Probably not a hard floor / flip top. Hydraulic bed lift wld be a bonus.
Any recommendations would be gd. Bit new at this lark !
Considering OUTBACK, BULL OAK,
DINGO, KANGA. Maybe HEASLIP from SA
What's the story with hard floors. Are they hard to level ?

In fairness to
Dingo, I am talking about the way they used to be made. If they are still made the same way, be careful, They used to be cheap because they saved $ by wrapping the fabric around the baseboard and massively stapling it underneath. This made them virtually impossible to repair. The usual technique is to have the fabric attach via sailtrack so it can be separated from the base.
Dingo designs and price were pretty good, as long as no repairs were needed. If
Dingo have since changed this. my apologies to them.

I used to have a
Dingo and yes , it's a pain with the staples under , but you can remove them and take the tent off the base ( although it is time consuming )
Would I reccomend one ?? Probably not.......alko independant rubber
suspension?......too hard and bouncy....crap..
No dust sealing......
There are better trailers out there....

I would defend the
Dingo brand - we had one for about 9 years until recently, when we upgraded to a small caravan (getting older), the trailer was really
well made being checkerplate, the welds were good (my other half is a boilermaker, so this was important to him), as for staples holding the top to the base - we never had a problem with the canvas, no holes, tears, nothing - no mould (bit of red dust embedded in the canvas) - recently sold it for a really good price we thought (through trader on here)

I have an older style camprite camper which sounds like what your looking for.
Mine was made before they started adding the 2 flip out beds on the side.
Set up is the bed slides forward over the draw bar and the tent section then sets up over the trailer itself. The annex then goes up behind the trailer.

Have you considered just buying an off road trailer and putting an oz trail camper top on it. They have a new one called the camper8. It opens up at the back , not at the side. Might be worth a thought.
