Went shopping yesterday for another battery for the GU and found 3 brands readily avavilable around here in Wodonga.
alll are 100a/h agm's
Powersonic at $330.00
Remco $359.00
Fullriver $415.00
Powersonic are certainly cheapest but are they better than the others? I know Fullriver are given a good rap on here but at that price is it good value?

I should add I'm limited to a 300mm tray ruling out a 120a/h size unfortunately

I've had 4 year trouble free years out of my REMCO and it still operates as
well as it did when new.
Can't comment on the other two as I've never used them.
Jim.

I was leaning that way. thanks for the replies. For a few extra bucks it may be a better option. We are running 2 engels (1 as a freezer) and apart from the dual battery system and genny with the handout we plan to purchase a solar panel to mount onto the roofrack. We will be doing a bit of driving and keeping it charged is a priority.

Hi madcow, I like to buy stuff that will have a warranty honoured anywhere in the country so seek out a brand that if it fails I can get it replaced in Alice or Wodonga. I got caught out with a 'no-name' brand battery that failed near Alice after a couple of months but the warranty was only any good if I took it back to where I purchased in Vic.

Just noticed Remco RM 12-100DC at Batteries Plus for $315.00. Ask them to price match.. (Price is Including GST)

That price was at our local BCF store in Albury, Given the cost of freight it would be a very similar price but will certainly ask the question just in case :)

Madcow, what freight..? The Freight charge is $10 as quoted by Batteries Plus. I went to place an order online and didn't specify a suburb and it was $10 which is cheap for something 30KG. Unless they have quoted you more for Albury..?

Freight costs are an allowance for 3kgs at $10.00. For me to get a battery from them in WA to Wodonga is $35.00. Not a bad price given the distance but they are able to get one to me for $325.00 delivered to my door. Seem pretty good to talk to but I would prefer to buy locally if the prices are similar. They certainly carry a decent range of stuff
