What do you think guys, should I buy one?I'm selling my old Patrol '91 RB30 (bought new) and want a midsized wagon with genuine low range 4wd.There aren't that many to choose from these days. The price and 5yr warranty are tempting.Your advice would be welcome.

I got me one of them.
Very happy with it...
I thought ccrander was after a new vehicle.

If you look around you'll find second hand Terracans going for reasonable prices. Very much underrated vehicle...so long as you've sorted out the mushy suspension...which the Ironman kit does.

Things like snorkels, cargo barriers, tuning chips are also available...although the engine and gearbox are more than adequate in standard form. Front and rear lockers also available.

My neighbour had 2 and had a lot of trouble with the old model and decided after having the new one for a short time that it was too thirsty when towing and didnt hold enough gear.

He traded it for a Cruiser with a 1HZ LOL.
He got the room for the gear but wouldnt improve the fuel consumption I would think.
Apparently they also need a suspension upgrade to make them a true off roader..

All heresay I know but my ear is still sore after listening to him rabbit on about it.
The resale value is not wonderful either.

The Kia Sorrento had some good reviews in 4WD Action and Overlander. I've got a mate in Brisbane with one (he has the diesel) and he's rapt in it. Not sure about the longevity or resale but they appear to be a good fourbie. See if a Goodle search turns up the reviews of them.

Hello CCrander,
We had a 3.5lt-5speed auto & did almost 100,000km's towing a camper & general family run around. The Sorento is a very underated vehicle & highly capable with the addition of some decent tyres & suspension. I strongly advise upgrade the suspension for lift & better dampers. Fuel wise it was around 15ltr/100 city, highway 13-14ltr/100, towing fully loaded 17ltr/100.
Very reliable vehicle but limited on internal space for a traveling family.

regards Simon.
