In Saturdays SM Herald there was an article on Willie
Gordon, an aboriginal from the
Cooktown area, who has a tour business showing visitors
the rock paintings of the area and explaining the culture of his people - he sounds like a great character.
The article gave the tour a rave review.
Just an extra thing to have up your sleeve when you visit the area.

Hi Willie.
We did the tour with
Gordon a couple of years ago.
Very interesting guy.
Those that take the time will come away with a whole new perspective on life and the aboriginal people.
regards

I did a tour with Willie in 2003 and he was a very interesting man and I learnt a lot. his explanation of aboriginal history and spiritual history was really informative.
Well worth the experience if you can do it. Bart from Bart's tours put me onto him.
