We have always stayed at MacDonnell range CP which isnt too bad. I have heard reasonable reviews from people in regards to the other 2 that are near that one as
well.

Agree on Mac Range CP, particularly if you have kids.
Very clean and
well laid out. Pancake brekkies, folk/country songs by the campfire and others.

Hi Carl
If by good you mean first class bathrooms - this one is not for you. If you mean a large grassy sites in a scenic and quiet location, you may be interested in where we stayed for a couple of weeks or so last year. We got used to the antiquated amenities (the price was made to match at around half the price some of the town parks). We stayed 8 kms away from the 'in town' parks and loved it at Temple Bar CP .
Check it out on Badger's: http://
home.vicnet.net.au/~badger04/
Or ask me for more info if this interests you.

For others who travel with pets - Temple Bar is pet friendly and has a creek bed where pets can be walked freely. While we were there, several people with dogs moved from the only pet friendly 'in town' park, for the nicer environment and large grassy sites.

We stayed at the Mac range park for a week a couple of years back now and found it a great family park.We gave those pools a real work out that week.Great park.
We have also stayed at the
Heritage park 3 times during the middle of the year. There is no pool there but it wasnt needed then.Good park.

Hi Carl,
Like above. Also the Wintersun is a great little Park. It is small, but very clean and tidy. Only a short walk into the town centre.
If you are going to arrive in the middle of the tourist season, it is advisable to book in advance.
Cheers
Stephen

G'day Mate is another smaller park - I personally don't like the bug parks - G'day has pool and all amenities you need - grassy sites as
well

We stayed in G'day Mate CP. It was good. Nice grassy sites. The owners/managers were very nice and couldn't do enough to help you.
I'll stay there next time as
well.

Yep, we stayed at the G'day Mate 3 times while we were in the area, between campsites in the Nt Parks and were very happy with the sites, and friendly owners. Amentieis and laundries also good.
Will stay there again if we are ever in the Alice

Yeh, I've stayed at the G'day Mate CP twice now, last time in August last year, and been very happy with it. Reasonable shade and grass, good amenities.

This is excellent information.
The Missus is dead keen for us to travel to
Alice Springs and so I have now started a special file on my computer which includes these beaut endorsements plus criticisms (they're important too).
Now I feel guilty that I can't offer information in return. Hang on..... anyone need a nice recipe for a tomato pasta? Hmmm?

Both of the above parks are very close together - I would recommend them both.
Check out the Pub just up the road as they have a guy with a good snake & lizard show a couple of evenings each week (free show).

Gidday Carl
There’s a really ugly fella on here called Hairy. No need to contact him, just park the van in the drive way then go round the back and get stuck into the grog frig.
He won’t mind putting you up for a few weeks.....
LOL
Regards
Kim
