Just been to Safeway (woolies), they got a special on, if you buy 6 bottles of wine, you get 10% discount, BUT you also get a 20% per litre discount docket for fuel. Bit of quick thinking, got 6 bottles of Le' Gopener bubbly for $4.99 a bottle on special. Just under $30. 10% discount = $27. 100 litres fuel at 20cents off = saving $20. Am currently enjoying the Le' Gopener at a cost of only $7 for the six bottles !!!

Ian,
I took advantage of the same deal a few months back and bought 150litres of diesel, getting 6 cleanskins for free. The cleanskins were garbage - even my uni-student kids wouldn't drink them :-((

hehehe Hi Ruth.
I try not to waste good wine on the kids!!

Wish I lived in a nice wet place with a big river like Birdsville. Here in Adelaide the Torrens was running past our place because the dam upstream broke down. Now they are wondering what to do with the empty lake in the city :-))

Nothing is free!

By preying on the naive, the supermarkets are keeping the fuel prices right up where they want them.
