My wife and I will be going up there June or July.
Exact dates unknown as we will be traveling for 6 months from SA. Times will depend factors such as roads open, whatever way we go from here, eg via Alice, Lawn Hill, Bourke, Broken Hill, east coast etc.etc

We just head of and then decide which way to go from each spot as we are retired from the work force and can do that.

I am sure there will be a lot a people that we will bump into on the Cape to travel with as required.

We have a caravan and will leave it at either Cairns, Atherton, Mareeba or Mount Carbine while we go up the Cape.

We intend going up the Cape for the first fortnight in July. We will be coming from the West via Normanton. Intend doing the West side stops on the way up with East side stops on the way down.
Every long tour we have done we have come across like minded souls who are happy to share info and campsites. That is what is so enjoyable about the touring of this great country and the people on this web site

I am planning a trip to the Cape and would be interested in joining a tag team. as you said, $$$$. I am in the retirement slot as well. all the time in the would. Did a trip around Oz in 07 but did not make the Cape. Keep in touch with info.
