Automotive wiring colour coding

I am about to change an electric tachometer. the one currently in use is a 2 inch Speco and the wiring color coding is A-Green connects to the coil, B-Black connects to earth, C-Red connects to power at ignition. The replacement tachometer in unbranded and the three wires coming from it are coloured Blue, Orange & Yellow. Could anybody advise me which goes where ?

What make is it?
They may have a website.

The replacement tacho is secondhand, no brandname showing and I don't have an instruction sheet.

Didn't it have a wiring diagram supplied?
Those colours could mean anything.!!

Hi Tony
I think you now have a problem, it was not cheap after all if you connect it wrong & blow something.
There are no standard colours as far as I know in car wiring,& or accessories.
