Hi all,
Where do you connect the wiring to for
driving lights. With the wiring wired up as normal for
driving lights and the High Beam (HB) power connected to the HB terminal on the headlights, the lights come on with the low beam headlights.
On the rear of the globes have the usual 3 terminals, the two side terminals are live all the time (even when everything is turned off and keys removed) and the top terminal (HB), has no power until you turn low beam on then all 3 are live. With HB turned on all 3 are still live.
So my question is without pulling the column apart where does the power for the HB come from?
I have checked the connection plugs behind the drivers side kick panel and none of them seem to power the lights. I can't find a seperate fuse for the HB so that is out of the question.
If anyone has a D4D hilux with
driving lights that come on with HB, can you please look and let me know where the HB power comes from.
Thanks
Dave

Thanks for the replies guys,
What I have done is,
on the relay:
30 = fused to battery
87 = to power the lights as normal
85 = 1 side of the globe (not the top High beam terminal)
86 = to the opposite side of the globe (again not the top HB terminal).
That's it, no switch on the dash and the lights come on only with high beam.
No earthing of the relay is needed.
(lucky a professional tried and failed to wire them in the first place or I wouldn't have known how to do it myself)
Cheers
Dave
