Hi all
Of interest for those travelling Oz with kids. Donnybrook has installed what I am informed is the biggest and probably the best playground in Australia and it's all free. Not only for kids but also sections of the playground can accomodate adults of all ages.

In addition the Shire have recently opened a transit caravn park in the adjoining Egan Park.

Just look for the playground beside the railway line just off the main Street.

The playground is reported to have cost two million largely funded by a local family. I thought it was started from a bequeath in someone's will. It is the largest free playground in Australia.

Hi Motherhen

My understanding is that funds were provided by one of the local families plus the Shire to a total of one million dollars. However with the volunteer labour from the community the total cost woul;d have been well in excess of that.

Hi John,

Thanks for this info, we are currently travelling Aust with our two girls (7 & 8) we should be in W.A. later this year, we have seen some really good parks so far, we are currently in Shepparton VIC and we recently went to "Adventure Town" its a gold coin donation and the kids loved it, giant slides, mazes, swings, flying foxes ect ect. I think it was funded by SPC Ardmona and local companies. It also has a kiosk ect

Cheers

Hi Gerry

I agree with Motherhen. Never too old especially when part of the playground is specifically aimed at adults.
