As part of Stage 3 (3rd month of travelling) on our deserts sojourn for 2009, we would like to visit Queen Victoria Spring.

Is there access to the Trans Australia Railway Access Road at Zanthus, through Cundalee or do you have to go east via PNC Baseline and Cable Haul Roads?

(No reference to QVS in Treks)

Cheers

theres been some recent exploration activity plumridge lakes way which may account for the bulldust but a few years ago you couldnt have asked for a more straightforward run - no bulldust-no corragations -no tight spots - no sand

should add the road from cundalee crosses ponton creek.

when i went through the main access had been washed out but a detour had been established.
im not sure of the current status of cundalee as it was an abandoned wreck in 05

Offered the truthful explanation which was that I had applied and had never got a response so assumed everthing was OK.

In 2008 good travel towards east on Nippon Highway (north of transline) and then south to Queen Victoria Springs, however be aware of mining traffic.

Willem - try a search on "Cundeelee" there are several posts - I would say the trip we did several years ago was one of my favourites. Great country and a lot to see.
