Hey all,
SHMBO and I are currently sitting at a beautifukl caravan park at
Aireys Inlet, and tomorrow we are going to takle the great ocean road, I had a question and couldnt really find the answers on the web, are the Lookouts that are positioned along the G O R caravan friendly? I love looking at our beautiful country but hate reversing the van :-) so can I do both tomorrow?
Thanks in advance for the info.
Shane and Sherron.

Most of the lookouts are on the points and are quite large, the direction you will be going also means that you will not have to deal with crossing the on coming traffic, there are also heaps of slow vehicle pullouts to let faster traffic to pass as
well so you should be able to make the most of the drive, don't forget coffee at the Bay Leaf cafe in
Apollo Bay, no affiliation they just make great coffee, have a great day, Rhys.

Shane,
From what i can remember the
lookout car parks do cater for caravans.
The main one that we stopped at had a
information centre, a very big car park and a walk way under the road that lead to the
cliff face.

Hi Shane and Sherron
I presume you are talking of the
limestone features such as the #? Apostles. The
cliff edge road between
Lorne and
Anglesea has no lookouts, so all my photos were taken from the car window - not very good either.
We went into most, and the majority had large
parking areas; particularly the high profile ones such as the Apostles and
London Bridge. Only one had a small car park. From memory (it was three years ago) it was
The Arch. We were able to park and turn, but if we had a bigger rig, it would have only been a few minutes wait until someone moved a car to make it easy.

Just remember, if coming from the opposite direction to the access points for the viewing parks, it is illegal and highly dangerous to cross double (centre) lines - if present. Could result in a head-on.
