Just wondering if the standard recovery loops (under the bullbar bolted onto the chassis) on the front of an 80 series are sufficient for snatching with, or should I replace them with hooks that I’ve just pulled off my old Hilux…? They ones on the ‘cruiser certainly look strong enough, but would like a second opinion…
Cheers

They have been known to break, go for the rated hooks from a 4wd shop.

The only problem is the hooks you buy dont line up with the holes in the chassis on the 80 series.

ARB have a kit that consists of 2 pieces of angle iron and high tensile bolts that replace the tie down eyes and allow you to bolt the aftermarket hooks onto them. Ridiculously expensive at around $75 if I remember correctly but certainly do the trick.

One hole lines up the other is 1/2 out so i got the drill and elongated the hole to save the $100 for the brackets there is no way it can come out.Have 4WD will Explore
