G'day All,
Anyone have any comments on the current F250 off road....good or bad?

I've driven one on road. V8 diesel. Believe me, it's horrible. I expected it to be the truck of my dreams and went at it with a very positive attitude, but slow, noisy, and just overall uncivilised. Drive one for yourself..
Good luck with it.
Josh.

seen some pictures of them on wheel travel ramps and the chassis seems to flex a lot... could be kinda useful offroad but you gotta wonder what effect that much flex would have on the chassis and body over time.
cheers,
KG

Hi KG
Used to own a Bronco, the flexing chassis was great and we did extensive off road work with it travelling 350000klms and often towing heavy vans and equipment. The vehicle survived with no problems, just too wide for the less used Hiogh Country Tracks.

Well I have a different version of the flexing chassis. It seems that Ford has still retained this feature on their vehicles. I had a 1977 F100 350 XLT LWB 4x4 and it was the single most useless 4by that I have ever owned. It used to cock a wheel with the flexing chassis and all traction would be lost. I was living in
Kununurra at the time and just out of town there was a small
sand dune. This flippin 4by would not and could not climb that dune in whichever gear. Thinking that it must have been my fault I went back to where we were working at the time and borrowed the company Landrover shorty and drove up and over the dune in 2wd !!
The Ford let me down like that on numerous occasions and I dumped it at the first opportunity. It was as smooth and as powerful as silk on the highway but mild offroad work and it was a dog!
Cheers,
Willie

I nearly bought a F250 with the V8 Diesel. After seeing how flimsy the body work was is I put off buying one. I then bought a 79 Cruiser and I am really glad. The 79 goes like stink. I thought the F250 would have had more guts to haul ! !
The F250 does not look like a real off road vehicle anyhow !
