Not a 4b
but my neighbour has a Proton that has a speedo that is 20klm yes 20klm out IE. when actually doing 80kph on my GPS his speedo is reading 100kph.
Tyres are the correct ones for the vehicle.
The gps is accurate as I have 2 and both read the same.
Any advice would be welcome.
We are in Dubbo NSW.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Cheers Dodg.

First stop should be the dealer. It doesn't do what it should that makes it their problem not yours or his. I assume it is new.

Perhaps that's how Proton achieve their 0-100 km/h times!
Is it under warranty? I recall seeing somewhere that ADRs specifiy that the speedo must be within 10% of true speed and distance. It's obviously way outside that, and the dealer should fix it.
cheers, Gerry

Dodger,
my little s#@t box I drive from Mackay to Townsville is 9 km out, a dollar 9 is actually 100 on the knocker. I don't stress about it I just adjust for the difference.

Lots cheaper than getting the speedo altered.

My old Troopy is out by 3.8k per 100 so I know exactly when I am going to get booked.

May the gods smile on you and if they can't pick me, pick me

Is it a newer or older model proton. my daughters 1997 model satria has problems with the fuel guage and temp guage. from my research it apparently can be a common fault with them and can be fixed by either replacing the whole instrument panel or the gauges can get be fixed but need to be removed first. the place i went to said they have a contact that takes the defective ones away and fixes them and returns for you to reinstall. not so sure about the actual speedo being a problem too as we didnt discuss that at the time. actually only her fuel guage was playing up back then but he said to wait as the temp guage would also play up eventually and do them both together - which they are now doing. i am still to do anything on it. will be interesting to find out what year/model your neighbours is
