Out for a long weekend, wife decides to try out the griller in familys mobile
home. Have all the instruction manuals except the Stove/Griller. Don't think the griller has ever been used before.
Black smoke comes up thru the holes in the top of the stove above the griller and wife turns the griller off. I suggest its because the griller has not been previously used before and was just burning in the griller hardware and to try again. She did.. with the same result.
Anyone know where I can download an instruction manual.
Any yes. we did remove the plastic wrapping from the tray etc.

Hi Peter,
I have a SMEV 401in our van, and an instruction booklet for the 401/402. Instructions say before using the grill for the first time to let it run at maximum temperature for 15 minutes. From memory, it did smoke when I did this but has been fine since.
The griller door and the top cover should be l open when it is in use but i guess you already knew that.
If there is anything else you need me to look up in the manual, let me know and I will try to help you out.
Regards,
Heather G

normally, inadequate instructions may be grounds for a OFT complaint to recover a full-refund... on the grounds that it is a "un-merchantable product"... but this one might be a bit trickly, seems they are lost...
