I finally bit the bllet and have bought an 05 Model Eagle outback camper. The one thing I would like fitted that it doesn't have is gas hot water. Has anyone had any experience fitting a aftermarket system in one of these campers and whats the go?????

Hi Pete & Fran

I'd question the usefulness of a HWS in a camper that doesn't have a shower. Can't you get heated shower units?

I already have a Primus portable system. Just looking to incorporate something in the trailer so I am not carrying so much stuff around.

Hi Guys,
I have a Coromal 380 wind up off roader with a gas hot water unit in it and an outside shower unit.
The shower head and taps are in a flap on the left hand rear of the van and you just set up a shower tent and away you go.
I have two 60 litre water tanks and when we go outback we take some extra water as well.
The only thing its used for is showers and for dishes.
Simple unit under the front seat with the access door on the left front corner.
cheers

Pete N Fran

I've been looking at hot water systems, but the asking price of $1,500 installed got me a bit hot and smelly!

LOL

Regards

Kim

I got one of those Colemans hot water for $299 a few weeks back.
Roughly the size of a beer carton but more square

The Truma hot water service is the way to go I have one in the camper, it has a stainless water boiler. Has enough water to do the dishes and a shower for 2, does not use much gas and is still warm enough to do the dishes in the morning when turned off a night.
