I am wondering if anyone knows how each of our states and territory's residents got their nicknames.....
WA...Sandgropers
SA.....Crow Eaters
Qld....Banana Benders ect.
The newer terminology for Southern state residents are Mexicans and Cockroaches but do these states have an older term associated to describe them???
These nicknames conjour up some pretty wild images of how they come about. Maybe just my warped brain LOL!!
Thanks, Trevor.

My mind Conjures up all sorts of images about the Sand Groper
nickname, I am thinking on the lines of a Banana Bender from
Queensland on holidays in Western Australia having a Grope in the
Sand lol lol, and the poor buggers in South Australia having to eat
Crow every time the other States beat them at some thing lol lol.
Cheers
