G'day

I have bought a winch and want to fit to new genuine nissan steel bar before it goes on the car, having a bit of trouble working out where to start, has anyone done this and have pictures?

Much appreciated.

Hi Chris

I've got the same Nissan D22 and steel bull bar already on it.
Been looking at a winch with plasma rope for awhile, been told i will have to upgrade torsion bar (fitted about $800 from ARB)probably which will make front end pretty hard ride i think. Now not so sure i will get it and stick with a hand winch, which gives more options to pull from but slower

I already have upgraded torsion bars, but basically what I'm after is how to mount the winch as it appears that the control box will stick out the front of the bar (nissan grille sticks out far as it is). Looks like I would have to lift bonnet to reach at clutch which doesn't seem right.

the control box will be outside the grille. i know it doesn' look too pretty but thats where they fit on nissans.as for the clutch assy you will have to rotate the clutch housing 90 degrees. is done by undoing the allen head screws on that housing .

I ahve had a look at rotating the clutch housing, where will i be able to fit my hands to move the lever once it is fitted, looks like the lever will hit the bar if i try to move it.

it may have to slightly lower than you think on patrols the swich lever just misses the support bar
