Hi,

We are taking 12 months off and have a dog!!! He is a 11 year old foxie that we have to take with us. We both love National Parks etc and know he will limit our visitation to some areas. Would love to hear from anyone who has travelled with a dog as to great places to "kennel" them ala Kimberley, Cape York, Simpson etc.... we are basically going around Australia....

Cheers,

Ally and Jim

Join the club,
Have not done much as of yet, but plan on doing a lot of travelling with our dog. If you can call him that. At times you could swear that he is half human and my wife is reluctant to leave him behind.
FYI there are two good publications out there. Holidaying with dogs, and bush camping with dogs. We have the latter and it looks good. We initially had problems finding a bookstore that had it and ended up ordering it online.
We are planning on a trip to the cape next year and from the comments we have received it will be better to leave the dog behind for this trip. Our plans are to leave him at a boarding kennel in Cairns so that he will not be with us for only a few weeks.
Hope this helps
Rick

Ally & Jim,
I know you want more information about West Aus as far as the pooch is concerned but have a look at this site as it may help you or someone else in the future.
I'm going to keep a lookout because we are in the same position but he (Viszla) is a lot bigger.

Cheers Geoff & (Khan).
