Hi

Trying to find a caravan park, or camping area in the SE QLD corner or Northern NSW (Double Is Point to say Byron Bay) that is close to, or on the beach, but will take dogs. I have the RACQ book "Traveling with Pets", but not having much luck. Can go to Starddie, but with Cruiser and the Goldstream Storm camper trailer...the barge fare kills the weekend trip. Any body have any sugestions???. Went to order the "Camping in QLD" book on line here a few weeks back and it was sold out.
Appreciate any comments.

Thanks

Simon

Simon

http://www.doggyholiday.com/dogqld2.htm

has a limited number of sites - i don't know if any are where you want to go.

A better resource is Badger's http://home.vicnet.net.au/~badger04/

where travellers contribute reports and Dog Friendly is highlighted.

Brunswick Heads - Ferry Reserve. Probably not on many lists as it has not been pet friendly for very long.

We stayed at Gatton a few years ago with two dogs. No problems.
Once you get off the main terrorist routes you should have no problems

There is a Caravan Park at Wooyung ,just South of Pottsville, older style park that used to allow Dogs when we were there 12 months ago or so
You would need to ring them and ask
Nice park -quite and had Bush Poets Night once a Month
Havent been there for a while so might have changed

Try the following park.

http://www.ballinabeachpark.com.au/

It's just off the beach providing protection from the s/e. Dog on leads, off peak times only.
