Hi All,
A week ago I asked for advice about things to look for when buying a 4.2 Patrol. The advice was appreciated.
Well.....on Saturday we sorted out the change over and today it was confirmed - the 4.2 ST-L is ours.
To say I am excited is an understatement!! It is a great car, 2004 with 83,000km on the clock and in very good condition. It goes like the wind too.
I pick it up on Saturday which means 5 sleepless nights between now and then.
Cheers
Evan

Stockton beach near
Newcastle NSW - its not a slice of
heaven - just lucky to catch good light at the right time .... But it is a great place close to
home that the family can have fun at .....

When you say "goes like the wind" is it modified because as standard they go more like a gentle breeze
I also have a 2005 4.2 & they are a good honest vehicle so hopefully you shouldn't have to many drama's with it

I'm pretty sure it has an aftermarket exhaust on it. I gave it a really good
test run and it had great pick up in every gear beit 3rd at 60k's or 5th at 110k's; it certainly was better than I had expected.
I' don't think it has had anything elses done, nothing I could see anyway

Evan
Congrats mate
You will never look back..
We managed to rescue a 2001 4.2TD, from a Toyota yard, it only had 93k on it...
Do not forget to change all the oils, first up, and then the coolant..give it a re-birth..lookafter it and it will last for years.
My only regret is that I let go a 2006 TD intercooled one, with 45k on it.. but the budget did not allow it.
Go the mighty 4.2 !
Cheers
Bucky
