Permission to travel south doen the
Emu Road to
Maralinga is very hard to come by (nee impossible for normal mortals). I'd say you'll have to finish off at
Coober Pedy. Another alternative is to head down from Coober, cut in to the trancentral service road through
Kingoonya and
Tarcoola and then down
Googs Track to
ceduna. A very nice alternative. Trek notes on this site for the Anne Beadell will be a good start for you.
Regards
Mick

I don't know Mick.
We have to learn somewhere sometime, but to ask such a question, I'm not sure Alan should be traveling in this area of Australia.
Maybe it is time M&M start to add a guide with the
membership.,
Cheers

Doh....Brain fade. My apologies Alan
John. I think I've cognitively left the building!! Just re read your post and obviously your intended route didn't register with me. I had you coming across the Anne Beadell from the west. The bulk of my original response still stands in that you will be very unlikely to get access to the restricted
Emu road down to
Maralinga. You will have to go on to Volkes
Hill Corner. You will need permits for the trip south but they will be much easier to obtain. Scrap the Googs suggestion, it's way out of your way. Perhaps a trip for another year. Thanks Richard, brain fade on my behalf.
Regards to you both, Mick

Hi Brain Faders,
How about just head south on the Connie Sue from
Neale Junction and then through
Rawlinna?
It's not that much of a backtrack to get to Eyre...
Don't forget the Jonh Baxter Memorial...
Cheers
Alan
