Hi to All,
I have put up on youtube, some video, I took of the recent Northern NSW/ SE Qld gathering, held over the Australia day long week end.
I wish to publicly thank Mark G., for organising the W/end, and also to thank Tour guide Brad, for sharing he's extensive local knowledge.
There are 4 clips ,around 10 mins long, for some reason the last clip has 2-3 minutes of blackness at the end, I don't know why but I will reload next w'end.

Those who have seen Mark's video VIA his blog will recognise same scenes, I've got different camera angle's.

What Mark didn't get on video was the storm that went thru camp while they stayed in Drake, It was stinking hot when we left, so I left ALL the windows on my Oztent WIDE open (as did others) , Part 3 will give insight to the result.
Also a big Thanks to a 4 WD club that where at camp when the storm hit, (I beleive they from the Tweed) they had a mad rush around trying to close doors and windows on tents and camper/trailers, while lightening was hitting around them, stopped too much rain getting into our tents and soaking EVERYTHING, bedding, cloths, the lot.
Shane D

PS .. . . . . . when is the next one??(no pressure, well just a little bit:))

Geez looks like a good turn up. I was still unloading a truck at 7PM on the fri and up until 8PM I was still trying my hardest to get down there but by 9PM all hope was lost and I grabbed a beer and sulked into it knowing I still had heaps of work to do Sat morning as well. Count me in if there is another one down there.

Tilly's reaction to the lack of A/C was priceless hehehe. Man, Zavier is big now too, just re-itterates how long it has been since we have caught up....too long.

Cheers, Trevor.

Hi Trevor,
It has been awhile since we caught up, must do some day.
It must be like rubbing salt into an open wound, missing a good trip, just as you where beginning to forget the dissapointment of it all, THERE IT IS, all over youtube!!!.

I've just dropped the cruiser at Toyota to fix the aircon, It is 25000 k, 3 months out of warranty, I'm pressing warranty, They can come to the party if they choose to but I'm not holding my breath, service manager will present a claim, see how we go.

That is better than Nissan would offer you on an exploded 3lt with the same k's and age. Good work Toyota hey?

I remember having to fight like bleep to get an A/C comp sent to Alice Springs once when my Pathfinder was still in warranty. Nissan Melb wanted me to drive the Simpson with no A/C or and I quote "drive it at night" No Bull bleep !!!

Cheers, Trevor.

NOT ALL THE TIME!!!!.
The daughter travells well , the Boy. . . . well, lets just say that if he feels that his comfort and freedom level is not quite up to scratch. . .he will freely communicate as such, continously, repeatedly,

Hi Vince,
I have a preatty good idea what the conditions where like when the storm hit, I wasn't far away, but I didn't even think that the tent windows where left open until waaaay too late.
I seem to remember that even the harden campers bunkered down in there vehicles due to lightening, There wherestrikes that whern't far away.

Thanks again for the effort.

Hi Shane,
Great job on the videos. Between your and Marks it captures the weekend pretty well.
Didn't realize how much lighting there was out there as we were perched up at the Drake Pub.
Yeah, Thanks to everybody that looked after our gear while we were still cutting our way back to camp. Thanks Guys.
