G'day Everyone,
I'm just wondering if anyone knows or can offer any advice about attaching roof rails to my holden frontera. I've had a look at the roof and am a bit confused as to how to do it.
I noted there are rubber strips towards the aft of the roof so, as I understand it, these are removed and the rail supports slid into the channel. The fwd ones are a different story as the rubber strips don't extend that far forward :? .
Also, I'd be keen on some advice about what type of racks are good value (i.e. good for the money) as there seems to be alot brands out there. I'm a keen surfer and mountainbiker plus will be going on family holidays so I really want the verstility of being able to attach the lateral racks (on the rails) as well as sticking a roof cage on from time to time..

Thanks in advance,

Wade.

You don't give the year of your Frontera.
Rhino make a removable mount & a track mount approx $300.00 + fitting. Yes I work for a 4WD Company. No names no pack drill.
Hope this helps

G'day Black Mac,
Thanks for that, do you have an idea what sort of cost I'd be in for fitting?
Is it a relatively easy process, i.e. could I do it myself?

Cheers,

Wade.

My brother recently got some rails from supercheap auto for the same type of vehicle. From memory they were under $300.00.

Have a look on the Rhino site and you will find what you need and the cost but they will be more expensive.

Just spoke with my brother and he paid $260 for his. That's about $60 cheaper then Rhino. Rola offers the same thing for a similiar price to Rhino.

G'day Cram,
Thanks for that mate, I might go and have a look.
Did your brother say whether it was a relatively easy process to stick them on? Like I say, I'm just not sure about the fwd attachment area and how that works?
You would happen to have the rack model name or number would you? I might go and have a look on the weekend...

Cheers,

Well he put them on himself so I guess it was not that hard. Leave it with me I will talk to him tomorrow and see what I can find out.
