Just like to pass on a website address I found for help in working out km etc on trips. It may be old news but to those who havent come accross it :
travelmate.com.au
This site covers almost everything in every part of the country so I hope you find it as useful as I did

Yep travelmate is a good site. I also found the RACQ travel planner to be good value.

Just be careful that you
check the route calculated between points is actually what you're after. I've investigated the databases behind these
services and found that in most cases they will not advise the shortest distance because of road type (ie. you will not be presented with 4WD tracks, and often not even a dirt track). So yes use them but
check the map they give to be sure its the route you're after. Regards Michelle,
