Hi all,
Heading to Dunn's track over the weekend, will be camping the one night.
Rather than pack the stove, stand and gas bottle for the sake of a couple of meals and billy boil ups was thinking of purchasing one of them little Primus single burner stoves that use the butane canisters.
Not having ever used one before are they up to the job or simply a toy ?
Cheers.....Lionel.

Living in the cold country, can verify the non-performance of butane canisters during cold weather, however you can get 80% butane 20% propane canisters (the same brew as in the Coleman canisters) for the little Primus stoves - they work really
well in cold weather and although costing about 20 cents more than straight butane they put out more heat and don't freeze up in the cold - the local outdoors
shop in Armidale carry "elemental" High performance Butane 80%/Propane 20% canisters for about $8 per 4 pack, (elemental website - www.gmagencies.com.au) and I understand that GasMate also put out a 80/20 canister. All the el-cheapo packs are 100% butane. Hope this helps
