Has anyone got a Nissan
snorkel fitted to their GU 3.0LTdi Patrol? I am looking at getting a
snorkel fitted and not sure whether to go with a Nissan one or a safari? Any opinions?
Thanks,
Josh

Hi,
I recently bought 2 snorkels from Nissan @ $261.00 each, trade price i fitted them myself and had no problems. The safari ones are a bit dearer. Yooll need a 110mm hole saw for the guard (a template for the holes comes with it) and heaps of silastic to seal the
snorkel tubes.
All up it took a few hours to fit
mine and a mates.

I think with Safari you get the option of fitting a pre-cleaner as
well as the air ram.

Hi Joshua,
I went with the Original Nissan product and had it fitted when the car was delivered (new). That way if there are any issues I will point the finger at Nissan, rather than Nissan pointing the finger at someone else.

Hi Joshua,
Like Mick I have picked up a Nissan
snorkel at trade price. Was going to fit it myself but local TJM dealer will fit it for $110. They market the Airtec
snorkel which I think is the same as the Nissan
snorkel (minus the Nissan logo). The job will take me a few hours and if I screw up a panel it's my problem, so $110 is a good deal. Nissan wanted about $350 to fit - yeah right!
So all up I'm looking at about $370 supply and fit which is much cheaper than a package deal from ARB, TJM, etc. That is primary reason for going with Nissan
snorkel.

Hi im back,
Just found out that Parramatta nissan send their genuine snorkels to be fitted by ARB in moorebank. If you cant fit it yourself, your best off going yourself to a 4x4 place to fit it and save some cash, miss out the middleman!

If you want to fit yourself
check out 4WD Monthly Magazine Dec 2002 edition. There is an article on fitting a
snorkel on p169.
