Hi all, have just bought a navman F15. I find it real handy except when i want to go off a sealed road. It seems to only have urban maps and no rural types. Can anyone tell me if i can download any other maps for this model and if so where? This is my first ever Gps and i haven't got a clue
where to start, although i did try navman australia with little success.

GdayDaniel
Go into your Navman and download all the maps of Australia.
Mine only had Victoria when we acquired the little devil. Just keep looking in the system and all will be revealed.

Navman is designed for made roads only.
Some dirt roads are there, but often they don't match exactly the Navman data.
It is handy though if you zoom out. You can see the made roads labelled in relation to you and still have a pretty good idea of where you are.
I wouldn't depend on it too far off the beaten track though.
Last year a family got stuck in the bush, snowed in because Navman took them the short way.... but worst way through the bush.
Love my Navman, but it's only a tool to use with other maps and local knowledge.

Gday
I agree with you Royce.I find that most back tracks in the
Vic high country that i have been on , are in Navman. They may not be under your car, but they will be nearby.
How are you after the fires? We at
home thinking of you and yours.

Thats reassuring When the creek is under your car and the road's beside it instead of the other way around.

We have a similar model - you can set it so you get shortest route - freeways - no freeways - on a recent trip we found it took us to the road we wanted - in a very small town - told us to turn into road - which was all we needed - (dirt roads around there) - you can also go online and download a full manual on the Navman site - very handy to have - we tend to argue with ours a bit, because we always know a better way -
well, nearly always.

Gday Julie P
I argue with
mine as
well. She is called "Gloria" Long story.
I find that if you go up the screen all the time, when you arrive, i have no idea where i am, so i usualy have a map as
well, and still get lost. All in good fun.
