Sorry about the spelling. I was after a LARGER fuel tank for my
X Trail. I would like a LAGER tank for my trip to the CAPE.

Esarby,

check out these two manufacturers. They could probably maker you a Lager tank as well lol. ;-)

Brown Davis

Long Range Automotive

I have used both over the recent years in my Navara and now Patrol. Both very good brands and excellent service (which is important).

Cheers Mick

A "LAGER" tank would be good.
I knew someone who took 10 litres of brandy in a jerry and someone else who took 20 litres or SA red in a jerry, but no one who has been able to do the same with beer :-)

Nobody makes long range tanks for Xtrails because there is no demand. The standard tank is one of those modern plastic ones that fits into a tight space in the monocoque chassis. Your only option is jerry cans. Xtrail goes 600ks on a tank, so one jerry should provide you with an extra 200k and the insurance you need. Taking an Xtrail to the cape, you need to keep it light and leave anything unnecessary at home.
