Well I've bought the one way plane ticket from Broome to home (SE NSW) next April. All I have to do now is drive to Broome, allowing two weeks. Any ideas on an interesting way to get there. Emphasis on remoteness.Bob

Good morning Bob,

I take it you are driving a Hire vehicle to Broome or going on Shanks Pony.:-)

How about this route:

SE/NSW to Bourke, Wanaaring, Milparinka, Cameron Corner,Border Track, Innamincka, Walkers Crossing, Birdsville, Boulia, Tobermorey, Jervois, Alice Springs, Yuendumu, Rabbit Flat, Bililuna, Wolfe Creek Crater, Fitzroy Crossing, Broome.........

Or from Alice...Pupunya, Sandy Blight Junction, Gary Junction, KIdson Track to Sandfire Roadhouse then Broome.

Sounds like a hard drive to me over two weeks....Have fun.

Cheers,

Willem

Now you're talking, Willem!

I'll drive the TD5 to Broome, put it on a truck there, and fly home.Bob

And while you're off enjoying all that terrific country Bob, I'll just keep sitting in this damn office dreaming about doing it!
Work intrudes too much on our enjoyment.
Is that a Td5 Defender or Discovery you're doing it in?

Bob, You are a smart man, buying the return ticket now so when the TD5 breaks down and you have to truck it home, you won't miss out on a plane ticket.
(only jok'in)

Regards

Funny you should mention that Mark. It has just started making a hissing sound under throttle which sounds to me like compressed air leaking downstream from the turbo. Still goes but lacks usual grunt. I am hoping its just a hose and not the intercooler.Bob
