I assume you meant to say they treat you like "a family member" or "a friend" or something along those lines.
I certainly wouldn't go there if they are going to treat me like chit :-)

Family Parks and Ozparks we find the best and friendliest and reasonably priced.

Agreed........don't expect red carpet treatment, but a smile and some pleasantries costs nothing. IMO if someone can't provide even this, they should not be in that type of business.

In my job, I have to be nice to even the most unappealing people ALL of the time, even at 4am!

Looking at your profile the only thing you do not carry is tomato sauce , Malcom Douglas would be proud of you ! Judging by your follow up to my post , The only thing you need is to get out there and have a look around . Its not all lovely lovely .
But a bit of a smile and a thank you from caravan parks keeps em full .

I suppose yer right. Luckily I do not ascribe to staying in van parks but camp away from the madding crowds. I did however live in van parks for a while. Our last sojourn(an overnighter) in a van park, was in Karratha in 2006. Never again!!!!lol I would rather go sleep in a shunting yard.

Like you, I try to avoid the joints as much as possible, but these days with a 2 1/2yo and a newborn, it often requires a couple of nights here and there to provide my 'chief cook and bottle washer' a little 'luxury' if you can call them that. Otherwise prefer to be in the bush 'away from the madding crowds'.

I find most OK for what they are, but occasionally come across some grumpy old bugger running a dirty run down dump and calling it a 'caravan park' ..... i guess they may just be right....somewhere to park a caravan...at a cost of course.... ;-) We just move on rather than complaining.

Ron M - I think you'll find that Willem has gotten out a little more than often and more than most on this site.
No doubt there are "bad" caravan park owners - but as Willem alluded to, if you don't use caravan parks then you will not come across them.
And what's with that quip about what Willem carries? Look at what you have dragging behind your vehicle.

The horse & cart ride is an eye opener. The horse on our trip was called Henry. and he was prone to farting, and also spraying the passengers!!!!!!!!!!!! It was different???
