Navman 2008 map update, any real difference

Thanks Bazza, Not sure we are talking about the same thing.

Whilst researching the free map i came across a software update

Release 2008.01 Navman Service Pack for Australian S30/50/80/90i

I previously had the 2007 version and updated this for free.

Is this what you were talking about, or if you received the actual map updates how were you entitled to it.

Yeh, same thing, got the 2008 maps, the update was applied at the same time the maps were installed. Sounds like you can get the fixpack/software upgrade without the maps.

So to answer you initial question, maps are slightly better in my area, I'm in country Vic, not sure if I would pay for them though.

sorry, missed the last bit, got free upgrade as part of Navman's deal for purchases mid to late last year.

My model was the 2007 and was part of a trade in deal , no doubt to get me to buy the unit with the old maps.

Will see if anyone else from around the country sees any real benefit before I buy.
