Will be in Townsville for December and would like to trek up and see
Cooktown for week or so.
I know its not the ideal time of year but what is it like that time of year? Too hot!
Too humid! Just forget it!?
Anyone been there during December?
Thanks
Andrew

It's never too hot or humid or wet for a visit to
Cooktown. If it's a genuine wet season then you may have access problems through the
Cape Tribulation route but should have little (if any) problems on the inland route from Mt Molloy. Of course if there has been some really heavy rain some of the rivers might cut the road for a day or two - always
check with the RACQ and/or local
police.
Be daring and go - it is a magnificent town, who knows you might even stay.
