For those who go to Teewah Beach and
Rainbow Beach, there will be a slight change getting on to
the beach from Northshore Entrance, the road down to the new Third Cutting should be finished by
Easter, full Bitumen all the way from the First Cutting, also they will be moving the Third Cutting further north a bit, so no more driving through the water section, I was told a Beach Permit will be required in the near future, something like $37-50 a month or approximately $200-00 per year, change is on the way, I got this information from
the Beach Front Caravan Park today, allso they called Tenders for the Ferry Operators, the lease runs out in June this year, the Council wants bigger Ferries to carry more vehicles.

gee daza, i only left rainbow/inskip on wednesday... did you notice the fossilised slate tiling in the garden area of the new resort and the exoticly layed iron stone walls....
I am very passonaite about fraser island so some of you may need to excuse a little vent...
Where is national parks in all of this - holding down Fraser/Inskip while the tourist operators have thier way with it...
little do the rich know they'll be swimming in the own poo from the as of yet untreated effluant flowing out of noosa.... which now leaves poo-froth on the inskip beaches during the higher tides.
It is my view the whole area should be closed to vehicle traffic and radial light rail put thru from teewah onwards.... start if from the old rail line at kings-
bore i say
Walk a kilometer on fraser and it changes three times.... from beach, to dunes, to rainforest, it is almost magic....This section of coastline is unique, there is no way one can enjoy the transitions of landform driving thru it - it must be walked to see it properly... and if you cant be bothered walking - buy a post-card cause that's what it is now - post-card terries...
if there are any uniting church
Camp Questers here from the 70's, they will know exactly what i mean....
bring back the sand-mining I say - it did far less damage than the h3's striking a pose up and down
the beach will now do

robertbruce,
National Parks -- Now EPA and if you are waiting for them to do something constructive I can only hope that you have some years to wait.
Who ripped the dunes and bush apart to construct Anti -
dingo fences around
Durong and
Happy Valley to keep the dingoes out. Pity they didn't train the dingoes not to walk through open gates?.
Who have to be flown in to work on the Island because they get lonely living in the new 4 Star quarters provided?.
Who work out of the Kingfisher Bay Resort and drive the tourist buses which do more damage in one trip than 20 4wd campers would do in a week?.
Who don't know what is growing on the Island nor what has been done by others to ensure continued existance?.
They are great when it comes to collecting fees or counting heads but not doing a lot for the Island or teaching people how to appreciate the wonderful resource we have..
Then we can talk about the EPA and how to handle 'oil spills' but that would give me a stress related heart attack.

fraser/inskip is alright to visit, but only if you have an accent... the locals shops were as unfriendly as possible to me... and i aint that bad in public, infact, im nice....
as mentioned the noosa council is putting in bigger barges and already the tar....
who owns the resort at
rainbow??... i know for a fact it is someone that owns resorts in noosa also - how desperate is this interest to profit? - more desperate than the worst drugaddict i reckon...
imho, it is actually a bit of a national embarrassment what the tourist operators do to the backpackers
the miners and loggers managed the island better i reckon .. the currnet management designs it's campsites like a pedeafile i reckon....
the fences were to avoid native tittle claims, not save tourists from dingoes, instead a differant sort of dog has got them.
ps... please excuse my spelling
