Hi Everyone, we are excited to finally be members of this great site and community. We have been visitors for quite a while now and feel like we know some of you already. We are preparing to take our 3 girls on a trip to the Red Centre in a few weeks and have found this site, particulary the forum and its contibutors to be a wealth of information. We hope to see you on the road.

Welcome to the site. I won't hold the fact that you are a Cruiser driving cockraoch against you too much lol.

What a great time to be heading out that way from the Sth Coast of NSW. Probably going right past some big puddles of water around western side of Lake Eyre??? could be worth a look from above??? I know I would love to see that spectacle from the air about now.

Travel safe and I hope you and the family enjoy the trip.

Regards, Trevor.

Thanks Trevor, love ur sense of humor:-)

I feel we are very lucky to be heading out that way when there is water, birds etc. Unfortunately we don't think our budget will stretch to a look from the air, it sure would be special though. We will sit down and plan our intinerary this arvo with our travel buddies, still so much to do:-)

kind regards
Lexie

Welcome Nev and Lexie,
we too live on NSW South Coast - it's a beautiful part of the country isn't it? We have found this site friendly and so informative since I discovered it some 6 months ago. I have been a member since January and consult it often. Considering life membership when the renewal time comes around.

We are currently travelling and at the beginning of a planned almost 6 months across to SA and then the west.

You will enjoy the centre, there are fantastic camps in the Macdonnells (east and west) near Alice with lots of walks, also of course Uluru, Kata Juta, Kings Canyon...

When in Coober Pedy two years ago, we took a flight over Lake Eyre and had a lunch stop at William Creek. Not cheap but well worth it as there was water in it - not as much as this year, but the landforms for the entire trip was like a viewing a huge changing aboriginal painting.
Enjoy the trip.

Regards,

Heather

Hi Heather,

You are right in saying the South coast is a fantastic spot, has a bit of just about everything. I hope that you enjoy SA and the west. Our dream, like many others, is to tour the whole country, but as usuall funds and time are required!!

We hope to see Dalhousie Springs and Chambers Pillar along with those you mentioned and I'm trying to work out how to get in that aeroplane over the lake.

This is a top website, the forum and contributors are amazing, and we have found people to be very friendly.

thanks
Lexie
