Im after some advice regarding my camprite camper trailer. I have an old camprite(1998) which is of the original style without the extra 2 beds although of similar design in that the bed slides out over the drawbar. At the moment I can't take my 3 way fridge with me if I go away because the car is full of kids(5 of them) which leaves no room inside. the fridge is too tall to fit in the trailer.
I have contemplated strapping it to the spare tyre which lays flat on the draw bar, however I would like something a bit better than that. My options as I see it are to put a removable shelf over the top of the spare tyre to sit it on or alternativley move the spare tyre somehow to the back of the trailer on to the tail gate and build a tray where the spare tyre was.
I was going to take a photo to give people a better idea but its too dark outside now.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Also if anyone can recommend someone north or east of Perth around Malaga or Bayswater possibly that could do something along these lines it would be also appreciated.

Hi Evan,

Why don't you talk to Camprite about it? They are in Wangarra and will possibly have some ideas - will be able to make sure it stays within load ratings etc...

Cheers

Have spoken to camprite and they are not interested in doing any work as it is only small. However they did recommend another company in Landsdale that may be able to help.

If your tailgate is heavy enough you can get spare tyre mounts to bolt on. Or else you'll need to have a hinge mount fitted outboard of the tailgate.. Have a wander through myswag.org ... there are some pics there from a guy who did the second.

Otherwise, consider a custom steel box on the draw bar to take the fridge and bolt the spare to.
